Where is our Manogram? - www.manogram.org
More men get prostate cancer than women get breast cancer. Over 230,000 men were stricken, 30,000 died and over 1.5 million had biopsies in 2004. And yet, men do not have accurate diagnostic tools for early detection and treatment. According to a recent study by the National Cancer Institute, PSA blood tests that screen for prostate cancer result in false-negative reassurances and numerous false-positive alarms. Some 15% of men with normal PSA levels still have prostate cancer. Even when PSA levels are abnormal, some 88% of men end up not having prostate cancer but undergoing unnecessary biopsies. Developing new imaging technologies is critical for accurate early detection, when prostate cancer can be treated with minimal discomfort, complications and costs. It's time to end the fear, pain and suffering caused by prostate cancer. Isn't it time for a “Manogram™” — life-saving imaging for men?

The Prostate Cancer Research Institute
The Prostate Cancer Research Institute is a charitable not-for-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of men’s lives by supporting research and disseminating information that educates and empowers patients, families and the medical community.

PCRI was founded in 1996 by internationally recognized prostate cancer oncologists Mark C. Scholz, MD and Stephen B. Strum, MD, with support from Daniel Freeman Hospital Foundation. Drs. Scholz’s and Strum’s vision was that: “an organization providing insightful clinical research in combination with high-level educational activities directed at both the patient and physician, would greatly enhance outcomes for prostate cancer patients everywhere”.

Stand up to Cancer
Stand up to Cancer Stand Up to Cancer is launching a new movement to attack cancer once and for all by pushing promising scientific breakthroughs to the finish.

Cancer takes one person every minute. One life in a moment. They are our brothers, our sisters, our fathers and mothers, our husbands and wives, our best friends, our children, ourselves.

Inspired to act by our own personal experiences with cancer, we recognize that we can no longer rely on the current system alone to give us the breakthroughs we need. So, we are calling on the public to help take matters into our own hands, investing in a revolution that will change the way scientist and clinicians work to understand and treat these diseases. Stand Up To Cancer is more than a rallying cry. It is a galvanizing force created to urgently move cancer research forward.

This is where the end of cancer begins: when we unite together in one unstoppable movement and Stand Up To Cancer.
